This is super beginner friendly (I can't ride one yet!)
So come on over!
from http://www.fl1w.org/
We're meeting Thursdays for unicycling practice on the basketball court on the corner of Jessup and Pleasant Grove Roads at 6pm. Beginners can practice along the fence, while advanced riders can practice tricks and play unicycle basketball, ultimate, polo, and hockey. First-timers are welcome; extra unicycles are available. Helmets required.

So at the risk of repeating myself: NO MT BIKE ride on Thursdays from Canaan Rd until further notice.
INSTEAD => Come and learn to UNI-CYCLE!! (or just watch me make a fool of myself clinging to the fence) ...

Hmm ... Attendance has been a little low the last couple weeks ... where are all the uni-cyclists hiding? On vacation? Megan and I will be there and maybe Raylene too tonight at 6 pm -- at the basketball courts on the Corner of Jessup and Pleasant Grove near Hasbrouk Apts on North Campus. We will have 6 unicyles for the 3 of us, so there are extras for beginners to try and a nice fence to hang onto (umm that'll be me: one of the fence clingers!) Come on down!

Posted: Tue Oct 03, 2006 2:35 pm Post subject: Indoor location starts this week! |
|
|
Hi all,
I'm very pleased to announce that starting this week, we'll be
meeting in an indoor location.
The location is the Henry St. John gym, currently owned by Ithaca
Neighborhood Housing Services. The building is on Clinton St.
between Cayuga and Geneva St., close to the Commons. There is a
parking lot there that we are allowed to use (it says something like
Patrons Only). I found a convenient map of the location at http://
ifd.cornell.edu/maps/HStJ.html. There are various convenient bus
stops nearby, for example the #101 Green Street stop in front of the
public library. The gym has bathrooms as well!
The time is Friday, 6:45am - 8pm. We have the space starting this
Friday until the end of this year. We'll have to find another time
slot if we want to continue using this space next year.
The gym rent is about $19 per session, so I think it's going to be
very affordable on a per person basis. I'd like to start with
suggested donations. If we ask for something like $3 per person or
$6 per family then we probably can cover the rental costs. If not,
we can raise the price later and make up for it. If we collect too
much money, then we can have occasional free session or so to attract
new members. For now I will act as treasurer for FLOW, but perhaps
we can set up a more formal structure soon.
Kids under age 18 have to be supervised by an adult. Not only that,
but INHS wants on file a Hold Harmless Agreement signed by parents.
I have made a dozen copies and will bring them Friday.
If it's muddy outside, please bring clean shoes and try to keep the
unicycle tires clean and dry when bringing them in. If I or somebody
things of it: some old rags or towels might come in very handy.
Finally, I would much like to thank Suzanne Schwartz for finding this
location.
Hope to see many of you this Friday,

Hi,
we're meeting this week on Saturday October 21s from 1:30 to 3pmt,
rather than Friday October 20th. The location is still the Henry St.
John Gym, on Clinton St between Cayuga and Geneva Streets. Suggested
donation: $3/person or $6/family. Hope to see many of you there.
