Dear Benjamin Blakeley,
My name is Eric Raue and I'm a journalism student at Ithaca College. In my broadcast journalism class, we are soon due to pitch "sports" stories to our journalism professor. In my research for an engaging and visual broadcast piece on local sports and recreation, I found some forums in which you'd posted about taking groups out kayaking during the summer.
I understand that your kayaking season probably won't begin until May, but I'd love to talk to you about covering kayaking in Ithaca for my news story anyway. It would be ideal if you had a trip or other event coming up within the next week or so to provide lots of interesting video, but if not, maybe there's some other aspect of the sport we can get footage of. We'd also love to do a couple of video interviews with you and some other local kayakers.
