Additional powder on New Year’s Eve has built up the fresh powder on top of the mostly covered frozen base. Ski conditions at Hammond hill were near excellent today on the multi-use trails. The only problem as anticipated was water under the snow in some places. Since the air was so cold, this caused icing problems for skis and especially snow shoes with metal parts. Temperature this evening is in the single digits.
