Contra Dance News for Central NY -- This newsletter originally started as a Facebook group. Recently Facebook has downgraded the usefulness of their groups making it impossible to send out a useful newsletter via a group. Conventional email is direct and efficient. This list is a fully moderated list and is 100% independent of Facebook: it is set up as "announce only". Occasional messages will normally come only from the list-serve admin, this keeps the volume down. Estimated volume is about one message per week. Other list serves of Mike's -- If you already subscribe to "Mikes-Music" then you will recieve most of the news that is in "Contradancenews". But if your primary interest is contra and related dancing, then you really should subscribe to "Contradancenews". Mike also has a similar 'genre' specific list for bluegrass ... Using Contradancenews
To post a message to all the list members, send email to contradancenews@canaaninstitute.org. You can subscribe to the list, or change your existing subscription, in the sections below.
Subscribing to Contradancenews
Subscribe to Contradancenews by filling out the following form. You will be sent email requesting confirmation, to prevent others from gratuitously subscribing you. Once confirmation is received, your request will be held for approval by the list moderator. You will be notified of the moderator's decision by email. This is also a hidden list, which means that the list of members is available only to the list administrator. Your email address:   Your name (optional):   You may enter a privacy password below. This provides only mild security, but should prevent others from messing with your subscription. Do not use a valuable password as it will occasionally be emailed back to you in cleartext. If you choose not to enter a password, one will be automatically generated for you, and it will be sent to you once you've confirmed your subscription.
