The four are just over from Ireland for the holidays.
Máire Neville is from County Limerick. She has been dancing and playing music since she was a small child and is currently pursuing both of these interests, specializing in the harp and Cape Breton dance, through her studies of Irish Music and Dance at the University of Limerick.
Heralding from from Galway's Corofin, David Curley is a multi instrumentalist and singing prodigy - playing guitar, banjo, mandolin, and bodhrán amongst other things along with his velvet vocals. A youth steeped in music led him to study the BA in Irish Music and Dance and the University of Limerick. Having performed with many acts such as Paddy Keenan and Rí Rá, Dathai will be touring Europe and the US extensively this year with the award winning band Slide.
Marie De Mott Grady and Oona Grady de Flaun are cousins, both from Ithaca. The two have been playing music together for almost as long as they can remember. Marie plays wooden flute and Oona the fiddle. Initially inspired by the vibrant Irish traditional music scene in Ithaca, these two have studied music in Ireland over the past several years. Oona has just finished studying for a music degree at University College Cork and Marie is currently studying music at the University of Limerick. They got hooked on slides and polkas while living in the south-west of Ireland and now gracefully combine these pulsing melodies with more widely known dance tunes such as jigs and reels. _________________ Michael Ludgate - forum administrator
