The First Unitarian Church of Ithaca's Social Justice Council is Proud to announce our 3rd Concert:
MUSIC FOR A SEASON, MUSIC FOR A REASON:
Concert for healing and peace on the 10th anniversary of 9/11
Featuring:
The Sim Redmond Trio,
Jayne Demakos
Answer The Muse Ensemble,
Jan Nigro and Friends,
September 11, 3:30 to 6 at the First Unitarian Church of Ithaca, corner of Buffalo and Aurora. $10 admission, all proceeds go to The Veterans Sanctuary Farm Program and The Forgiveness Project.
Our bottom line with this event is to create a concert of peace and healing. We are well
aware of unresolved feelings our audience may have on that day...and
we hope that the healing power of music, meditation, chant, and gathering in community
can offer a sense of connection in the hopes of finding peace.
Please find attached pictures of the Sim Redmond Band in performance...as well as a full poster of the event.
AND PLEASE HELP US SPREAD THE WORD...PLEASE FORWARD THIS EMAIL TO FRIENDS IN YOUR EMAIL WORLDS THAT WOULD APPRECIATE COMING TO OUR EVENT.
IN PEACE!!! _________________ Michael Ludgate - forum administrator

Dear Friends!
It is once again time for MUSIC FOR A SEASON- MUSIC FOR A REASON. Our upcoming Winter Concert promises both amazing music, as well as powerful causes that we are raising funds for.
The concert is Friday night, January 13th---7:30-10:00pm. $10.00 donation
Performers will include:
Jan Nigro and Friends -a mix of folk to motown to comedy to rock--- always the charmed and unexpected.
Answer the Muse- bringing you their fusion of theatrical/originals/and spiritually inspired performance art.
Terry Burns and Ron Kristy -from Nashville to Ithaca- Ron and Terry present originals with vocal blends and harmonies that rock the house...they are in a league of their own, blending folk and contemporary country stylings.
Joe Crookston- national award winning touring artist---singer/songwriter...Joe's compositions (and reviews of his latest album- "Darkling & the Bluebird Jubilee") have put his name on a level with the great contemporary folk singer-songwriters of today.
We are proud and honored to have such an incredibly fine array of music.
AND we proudly raise funds for:
Locally...The Friendship Donations Network -innovative and transformative program that saves nutritious food from waste, to serve countless food pantries for the hungry throughout Tompkins County.
Globally...Veterans Fellowship of Reconciliation- collaborating nationally and internationally with anti-war veterans organizations (an affiliate of the Fellowship of Reconciliation- the country's oldest pacificist organization)

Greetings All!
Once again it is time for our wonderful concert series,
MUSIC FOR A SEASON, MUSIC FOR A REASON!!
Having just been downstate in the NYC area over the holidays, I come back with real conviction about this one....we are raising all funds for Hurricane Sandy relief!!!! Areas completely devastated in our own state...and we can help do something about it!
Our line up is wonderful and varied---from the Seneca Street Recorder Ensemble and Answer the Muse to get things going, to 'transistor' Radio London and Jeannie Burns---- an outstanding night of music awaits us with a cause very close to home!
Join us with the First Unitarian Society of Ithaca's Social Justice Council
Saturday night, February 2nd, 7:30-10:00
Peace! _________________ Michael Ludgate - forum administrator
