Calling all musical Friends and Neighbors!
A very special event is happening

21 Settlement Road. (more details below)
Here’s the scoop in a nut-shell:

The fees are sliding scale - $10-20 for the workshop. Bring food to share for supper

Here's more info about John and Claudine, to tempt you...
John Dipper & Claudine Arcand
A meeting of musical minds - two fiddles, two lines weaving to create beautiful melodies and harmonies from traditional English and Quebecoise dance music. This exciting duo features leading exponents from both traditions, uniting their rich cultures, creating a distinctive and addictive sound!
With Quebecoise fiddler Claudine Arcand, John Dipper’s playing takes on a deep resonance; with harmonies appearing out of the ether, apparently without effort. Each a master in their own traditions, when they play together something wonderful happens; based in both John and Claudine’s deep roots in their traditions and connection to the tunes they perform.
John Dipper: English Fiddle & Concertina / Claudine Arcand: Quebecoise Fiddle
John Dipper is a renown English fiddler, performer, teacher and composer whose unique playing style and traditionally-spirited compositions convey a deep understanding and passion for the indigenous culture of England. John is a founder member of the English Acoustic Collective with Chris Wood and Robert Harbron, and also plays frequently with Karen Tweed. As part of Methera Quartet John Dipper masterfully weaves dance tunes into improvisational chamber music.
Claudine Arcand is one of Quebec’s leading fiddle players. Her unique and dynamic style is matched with her enthusiasm and passion for traditional Quebecoise music. She is much in demand at workshops and festivals in Canada and North America. Claudine is also a member of the superb contra-dance band Tidal Wave! _________________ Michael Ludgate - forum administrator
