I plan to make it a big
birthday bash for myself, since that night is my birthday.

Close Hall, Jacksonville, NY
This is one of the dances everyone talks about. It is part of a regular series offered by Nancy Spero and Steve Selin. The calling is authentic and very beginner friendly. The music is a blast!
-- these guys are an incredibly enthusiastic and talented group of old time musicians who play authentic Southern Appalachian style fiddle tunes for your dancing pleasure. Nancy Spero will be calling the Squares.
There will also be waltzes, free style dances and two steps. Square Dance !!!Come have fun and send good energy out to the world! All dances are taught, no experience is necessary, no partner necessary. $7 suggested donation.
Directions to Close Hall from Ithaca: Take NYS Route 96 north from Ithaca 8 miles. When you get to Jacksonville, the speed limit slows to 40 mph. You will pass a convenience store and the Jacksonville Rd. intersection. Close Hall is about eight doors up on the left after the intersection. It's a two story, white, frame building, directly across from a church. Turn in the driveway to park behind the building or park on the road.

Ok, my birthday is coming up real soon this June 2.
It would be real nice to have your company as this Gemini woman steps into another year, my 60th to be exact.

The dance event on Sept 27 has changed. There will be NO square dance at Close Hall.
Instead join the 4th Annual Farmer's Ball at the farmer's market pavilion at Steamboat Landing 6: 00 pm dish-to-pass and then followed by an Old Time Dance Party with Richie Stearns and Steve Selin and friends. and Nancy Spero will be calling some square dances.
This is a benefit for the Tompkins Area CSA Coalition which has contributed to the Healthy Food For All Program for low income families in the area. ($5 suggested donation).
Specific details below:
4th annual Farmers Ball
What: dish-to-pass and dance party
Where: Steamboat Landing -- farmers market pavilion
When: Sat. Sept. 27th
What time: 6 p.m.
How much: $5. suggested donation
Who: everyone's invited - open to the community
Who's having the party: Tompkins Area CSA Coaltion

4th Annual Farmers Ball to be held at the main pavilion at Steamboat Landing (site of the local farmer's market) on Sat. Sept. 27th. Dish-to-pass dinner starts at 6 p.m., followed by old time dance tunes with Steve Selin, Ritchie Stearns and friends. Special guest Nancy Spero will call dances. Please bring a place setting. Rain or shine!
Come show off your local food dishes, enjoy what other people have to share, socialize and dance!
Free and open to the public. Donations accepted to benefit Healthy Food For All which served local low-income families with 60 subsidized CSA shares this year!
The Farmers Ball is put on by the Tompkins Area Community Supported Agriculture Coalition.
