The Cornell Swing Dance Club and the Ithaca Swing Dance Network proudly
present The John Cole Blues Band for a swing dance on
Saturday, April 5, 2008 at the Memorial Room, Willard Straight Hall, on the
Cornell campus from 8:30-midnight.
A Rochester favorite, The John Cole Blues Band specializes in soulful blues,
ballads and R&B classics -- great for dancing a variety of swing styles and
slow blues.
Admission is $12 for adults and $10 for students or seniors. There will also
be an introductory swing dance lesson from 7:30-8:30 taught by Cindy
Overstreet as part of the admission.

The Ithaca Swing Dance Network and the Cornell Swing Dance Club are proud to sponsor the Hotfoot Club for a swing dance on Saturday, October 4 in the Memorial Room, Willard Straight Hall, on the Cornell campus, from 8:30 PM to midnight.
A favorite of the Central New York swing scene, Hotfoot Club is a 5-piece band that serves up impeccably arranged swing and rhythm and blues from the 1930s through the 1950s, played by some of the area’s most accomplished musicians.
Admission is $10 for adults and $8 for seniors and students. There will be an introductory swing lesson at 7:30 as part of the admission.

The Ithaca Swing Dance Network and Cornell Swing Dance Club are proud to present Dave Hanlon’s Cookbook at a swing dance on Saturday, April 4, at the Memorial Room, Willard Straight Hall, on the Cornell campus in Ithaca, from 8:30 PM to midnight.
Since 1983, Dave Hanlon’s Cookbook has performed throughout Central New York at numerous venues, including clubs, concerts, and weddings. Extremely talented and versatile, the band continues to win over new fans and keep the existing ones coming back with their high-energy Rythm & Blues dance oriented presentation

The Ithaca Swing Dance Network and the Cornell Swing Dance Club are proud to present the JazzHappensBand at a swing dance on Saturday, September 12, in the upstairs function room of Robert Purcell Union at Cornell on the North campus, from 8:30 PM to midnight.
The JazzHappensBand is a traditional Dixieland jazz band with a repertoire of Dixie, blues, and quick stepping jazz.
Admission is $10 for adults and $8 for seniors (60+) and students. There will be an introductory swing lesson at 7:30 with Cindy Overstreet as part of the admission.

Swing Dance with THE AGELESS JAZZ BAND
The Ithaca Swing Dance Network is proud to present THE AGELESS JAZZ BAND for
a swing dance at the Community School of Music and Art (CSMA), third floor,
at 328 E. State St., on Saturday, December 11.
The Ageless Jazz Band is Ithaca¹s very own big band, featuring eighteen
musicians with a full brass section and a repertoire that ranges from
classic swing to Latin jazz.
Proceeds from this dance go to benefit CSMA.
There will be an introductory swing dance lesson at 7:30. The dance begins
at 8:30 and goes until midnight.
Admission is $15 for adults and $12 for students/seniors. Tickets are
available at the door.

This is most definitely a “dancer’s band” because it is led by a veteran swing dancer. Diana has been dancing for over fifteen years. She knows what dancers need and want, and she delivers!

The Ithaca Swing Dance Network and Cornell Swing Dance Club are proud to present the Solomon Douglas Quartet at a swing dance on Saturday, April 28, at the Memorial Room, Willard Straight Hall, on the Cornell campus in Ithaca, from 8:30 PM to midnight.
Solomon Douglas is a jazz pianist and bandleader, and his experience as a swing dancer and dance instructor gives him an understanding of the music that swing dancers like to dance to! The Quartet plays a mixture of musical styles including blues, old-school swing, and groovy mainstream swinging jazz with tinges of bop and soul-jazz, and his groups have performed all over North America.
Admission is $10 for adults and $8 for seniors (60+) and students. There will be an introductory swing lesson at 7:30 as part of the admission.

Seattle pianist Solomon Douglas started playing jazz 25 years ago, and has been performing for swing dancers for about half of that time. He leads the ten-piece Solomon Douglas Swingtet in addition to his small groups (such as the Solomon Douglas Quartet). His music is a mixture of old-school swing, blues, and groovy swinging jazz.
Alison Dreyfuss is a young vocalist from New Hampshire who has been making a big splash in the Lindy Hop world over the past year. She has recently performed for Lindy Hop events in and New York, Boston, DC, Seattle, and Portland (Oregon). Her unique voice and her delightful sense of phrasing will remind some listeners of Billie Holiday and Blossom Dearie, without sounding like an imitation of anyone.
Glenn Crytzer is a jazz guitarist and composer from Seattle, Washington, best known in the Lindy Hop world as the bandleader behind the six-piece jazz band Glenn Crytzer and His Syncopators (founded in 2007), and the 13-piece big band Crytzer's Blue Rhythm Band (winner of the 2011 DC Lindy Exchange big band battle).
NYC bassist George DeLancey studied at Michigan State University, where he performed with many Detroit lumanaries including Dwight Adams, Vincent Chandler, and Sean Dobbins. He is a regular sideman of saxophonist Wessell Anderson and violinist Christian Howes. He leads his own ensembles, and co-leads the Sailors/DeLancey Jazz Orchestra.
