Dear Jammers,

The last Candor Jam was almost crowded! It was great fun to have new pals playing and singing with old friends. This week is not a school vacation making it harder for some to come. But, the worst of the sleet should be over by Thursday night so I'm hoping to see many of you on Thursday.

There will be a benefit fundraiser dinner for Janet Harris and Family
on Saturday Mar. 22 from noon until 7:00 at the Candor Fire Hall.
Janet is a beautiful 23 year old from Candor who was in a car
accident. She suffered serious head injury similar to shaken baby
syndrome and is in a coma. I am playing fiddle and mandolin with Trish
Englehard and some of our mutual music friends starting at 12 noon for a couple hours.

Come on over and buy a dinner and help out this family!

Dear Jammers One and All,

Spring has certainly sprung since last we sung in Candor. Downtown Ithaca is GREEN. The hills of Candor are dappled with many shades of green and red. I love the subtle colors of returning life! With spring has come later light and warmer temperatures (except tonight's!) making traveling much easier and more predictable. I look forward to seeing some of you who have not been around in a "coon's age." Last sing we were treated to return visits by two old friends, Jim Harpur and John . Trish shared some of the first strains of a brand new and lovely sounding fiddle. So, come, surprise us and delight us with shared music!

Hi Candor Jammers one and all!

It is SUMMER just in case you have not noticed. I hope you have because
it has been a good one for various forms of fun and games. I have really
been enjoying swimming and did some great kayaking on the St Lawrence while
a bunch of you were singing and playing in Candor last time. It has been hot
and humid and looks likely to stay that way for several more days. If
anyone wishes to indulge in a cooling swim before this week's jam, just
"come on by". Our pond is even a bit warm for my taste, probably perfect
for yours. That northern river pal of mine taught me to like cool water.
We'll be heading down to Candor about 7:15 so time your swim accordingly.
Actually, you a welcome to come in our absence although we'd really like you
to come with a friend. Solo swimming is discouragaged.

Secondly, we have chosen August 7, the next sing, as our annual porch
gathering. We will cook up a MESS of pork and venison speidies, home made
pita breads and grilled squash for the vegetarians among you.
We ask that you bring an ample dish of something yummy. We'll have various
beverages of the non alcoholic nature and welcome additional drinks of any kind. Swimming is encouraged, after the swimmers vacate,
fishing children are welcome to use the peddle boat. We have a few life jackets. The climbing structure we
once had has moved to a yard with children but the bin of Legos awaits use
here.

For those of you who are new to the list, or at least new to our
gathering, we live at 482 Dry Brook Rd. That is 2.4 miles north from
Gridleyville Crossing Rd. on Dry Brook (that is odd!). The house is yellow
with brown trim with outbuildings across the street. Try to park in the
barn yard and north of the machine shed. Minimizing on road parking is wise
as too many use this road as a drag race strip. Come one, come all, we love

friendship!
