Fitz & the Tantrums will perform their soul-drenched pop songs this Sunday, November 8 at Cornell University's Barton Hall as they continue their national tour supporting heavyweights Maroon 5.

Armed with just a $50 church organ and a two-bit microphone, Fitz set about writing and recording the band’s aptly-titled debut EP, “Songs For A Break Up: Volume 1.” The five-song collection is equal parts Motown to 70s AM, with back-to-back blue-eyed soul jams oozing with sweeping choruses and sultry backing vocals. Spin.com pronounced Fitz “a confident crooner,” and declared the songs, “Breakin' the Chains of Love,” and “Don't Gotta Work It Out,” as “two stone-legit, would-be standards.”
