CSMA - The Community School of Music and Arts, Ithaca’s downtown multi-arts center and owner of a historic 23,000 square foot facility, has supported various facets of experiencing the arts throughout its 53 year history. From its humble beginnings as a children’s music school housed in the founders’ living room, through years of steady programmatic diversification, CSMA has firmly established its home as a vibrant hub for instruction in visual and performing arts, and for artistic collaboration and production. CSMA is a popular venue for performances, gallery shows and events; housing a multitude of classrooms, studios, music practice rooms, art galleries and the grand Third Floor Performance Space.
Our mission is “to provide quality instruction to any community member who desires to learn music and arts, to develop and offer cultural and artistic programs and events, and to serve as a resource for community artists and musicians.” The Arts for All Marathon directly supports this mission.
