Hello Bluegrass Lovers,
Well it looks like winter may just be on the way out....days slightly
warmer, less snow, more sun, and even if it is freezing cold
and miserable out....we're still going to Jam on Sunday, February 27th
at the Smith Opera House, 82 Seneca Street, Geneva, NY. Please use the
entrance two doors to the left of the main Smith entrance doors, and
climb 1 flight of stairs, and voila, there you are.

The jams have really been going great, with new faces coming each month,
and new friendships and musical associations being made. We play fast
songs, slow songs, middle speed songs, and we sing, trying out new
harmonies and learning new songs. If you like to listen to some of our
local and semi local playing through a number of the great songs of this
genre, and meet new friends, please consider coming to one of our Jams,
which happen the 4th Sunday of the month, same location, same time with
the exception of May through August (the bluegrass outdoor festival
season) and we also don't meet in December.

New and beginning players are always welcome so if you are just
learning, you can sit a little back from the main jam area and just play
along to your heart's content, and when you feel comfortable to come
forward and do a familiar song...you are most welcome to do so. Also,
if you hear a musician that you think you can learn something from,
simple....just ask them for a quick 'can you show me this', and if you
want a more formal teaching relationship, again, just ask. These
pickers are the nicest bunch of folks you'll ever meet, and every one of
them will be happy to help you make progress on your instrument. Last
time we had two fiddlers join us for a couple of songs, and we were all
surprised at how musical and fun it was to have some new folks swing by
and show what they had been working on.

Acoustic instruments only, and we pretty much play mostly, strictly
bluegrass, although there's always room for a few other type songs. So
come on out, and bring your instruments.

BTW, we are working on a web site to list all band gigs, as well as a
hub for networking and finding instruments, lessons, or even if you're
looking for a band to join or hire. We'll have links to band websites,
concert and festival dates in the area, and we'll work to keep you up to
date on everything bluegrass so we can all take part in helping our
favorite music grow.

Thanks for your support.

best regards,
