Mon Apr 23    Red Newt Bistro - Southern Night is back! Samantha Buyskes
and the Simply Red crew will transform the Bistro at Red Newt Cellars into
the classic Monday night venue that has served traditional southern fare
with a local twist for over a decade. Monday night was originally designed
as an evening to bring the community together to offer a comfort plate of
food and to enjoy live bluegrass music. Now you can find this long-standing
tradition popping up at the Bistro at Red Newt Cellars! Plus, the Bistro

night! 6:30-8:30 every 2 weeks Sundays nights. Bluegrass only. The last
Bluegrass Jam for the spring will be on May 27th and will resume again in

Sun May 13    Paris Texas with Jesse Cobb - Sunday, May 13 at 3pm in Danby
- FREE - Paris Texas (Bobby Henrie & Rick Manning) will be joined by
mandolin master Jesse Cobb (founding member of the Infamous Stringdusters)
in a concert at the Danby Library on Sunday afternoon, May 13 @ 3pm.  This
is a free community concert series and will be an unplugged performance.
Bobby and Rick play an energetic mix bluegrass with western and string
swing music.  They are pleased to be joined by Jesse Cobb,  a great
mandolin player who recently moved to Southern Ontario, near Niagara Falls
with his wife and family.  Check out some of Jesse's you tube mando duets
with Frank Solivan for a real treat. Jesse will be offering a mandolin
master class from 12 - 2pm on Sunday, May 13 for $45 per person.  Contact

perform at the PENNY Assoc. "Wrench Wranch" Memorial Day weekend Bluegrass

Sun May 27    Tony Trischka in Ithaca on Sunday, May 27 at 4pm - Banjo
wizard Tony Trischka & Territory with Michael Daves will return to Ithaca
to perform on Sunday afternoon at the Unitarian Church in downtown Ithaca.
Tony and Michael will be joined by fiddler Tashina Clarridge and Skip Ward
on bass for two sets at this great downtown venue.  Tickets will be
available in early April and will cost $15 in advance and $20 at the door -
more on that in early April.  Tony, Michael, Tashina, and Skip will offer 2
hour instrumental workshops from 1 - 3 pm before the concert for $35 per
person (5 person minimum).   Location of these workshops to be announced.
We are very excited to bring Tony and his band back to Ithaca after their
great performances at Winter Village in January.

DIGEST MODE -- Disabled for all of my e-lists. Here is why: The mailman
digest mode is really only useful on busier list-serves. Since I usually
only send one message per day maximum, it will not change your email volume
as the digest is also one message per day. The non-digest version is easier
to read because it includes HTML formatting and the wider screen of text.
